What is Thursday Night Battle?

Thursday Night Battle is our weekly battle night where fighters can come out, gear up, spar, and join official matches. It is designed to be welcoming, active, and easy to join.

Do I need experience?

No. Beginners are welcome.

You do not need prior experience to join. If you are new, you are welcome to watch, warm up, and do light sparring before stepping into a full match.

Do I have to fight right away?

No.

There is no pressure to jump straight into a full battle. You are welcome to watch, warm up, lightly spar, and join official matches when you feel ready.

What gear do I need?

The standard battle kit is:

  • Helmet

  • Jersey

  • Approved foam sword

Optional: Armor

Gear is provided for participants.

Are helmets required?

Yes.

Helmets are required for battle participation. This helps keep combat safer and more consistent for everyone on the field.

Are headshots allowed?

No.

Headshots are not allowed. Controlled swings and safe targeting are part of every battle.

Can people spar outside official matches?

Yes.

Light sparring and warm-up fights are encouraged outside official matches, as long as all safety rules are followed.

How is safety handled?

Safety rules apply to all matches and sparring.

  • No headshots

  • Controlled swings only

  • Respect all fighters

  • Before combat begins, all fighters must agree on the contact level, power, and intensity

Is this LARP or sport combat?

Knights Larping Battle leans more toward sport combat than heavy roleplay.

The focus is on movement, competition, sparring, and battle formats rather than acting or character-based roleplay.

What fighter classes are available?

Depending on match format and turnout, fighter classes may include:

  • Standard Fighter

  • Shield Fighter

  • Armor Fighter

  • Spear Fighter

  • Bow Fighter

Some classes may be limited depending on the event and battle format.

Is armor required?

No.

Armor is optional. The standard battle kit is helmet, jersey, and approved foam sword.

How much does it cost?

Thursday Night Battle is currently donation-based.

There is no fixed entry fee at this time. Donations help support gear, repairs, replacement equipment, and future battle nights.

Can I bring my own gear?

Only approved gear may be used.

If you want to bring your own equipment, it should be checked first to make sure it fits the safety standards used in battle.

Is this only for adults?

Thursday Night Battle is mainly geared toward adults. Younger participants may join with a parent involved.

Yes.
