How It Works

Thursday Night Battle is designed to be simple to join and easy to understand.

When you arrive, you will check in, get geared up, go over the rules, and decide how you want to participate. Some people jump right into matches. Others watch first, warm up, or do light sparring before joining official battles.

You can ease into the night at your own pace.

When You Arrive

A typical battle night starts with:

  • Check-in

  • Gear setup

  • Rule review

  • Warm-up and light sparring

  • Team battles, duels, or other match formats

This helps keep the night organized and makes it easier for new and returning fighters to get involved.

Ways to Participate

You do not have to join a full match right away.

You are welcome to:

  • Watch the action

  • Warm up

  • Lightly spar

  • Join official matches when ready

This gives new fighters a chance to get comfortable and returning fighters a chance to warm up before battle

Match Flow

Battle nights may include a mix of:

  • Team fights

  • One-on-one duels

  • Rotating rounds

  • Casual sparring

  • Specialty class battles

Match format may change depending on turnout, gear available, and the type of night being run.

Fighter Classes

Matches may include different fighter classes depending on battle format:

  • Standard Fighter

  • Shield Fighter

  • Armor Fighter

  • Spear Fighter

  • Bow Fighter

Some fighter classes may be limited depending on team size and equipment available.

Safety & Conduct

All fighters are expected to follow the same core rules:

  • No headshots

  • Controlled swings only

  • Approved gear only

  • Respect all fighters

  • Before combat begins, all fighters must agree on the contact level, power, and intensity

These rules apply during official matches and during open sparring.

Gear on the Field

Standard battle gear is:

  • Helmet

  • Jersey

  • Approved foam sword

Optional: Armor

Additional gear such as shields, spears, and bows may be used in select match formats.

Open Sparring

Light sparring before official matches is encouraged.

Open sparring gives fighters a chance to loosen up, practice, test timing, and build confidence before joining a full match. It is also a good option for people who want to participate without jumping straight into competitive rounds.

All open sparring follows the same safety rules as official combat.

Support the Battle

Thursday Night Battle is currently donation-based.

Donations help support gear, repairs, replacement equipment, and future battle nights.
