Raiders vs. Defenders

Objective:
In Raiders vs. Defenders, the Raiders aim to breach and capture a Defender's base or treasure, while the Defenders strive to protect the base or treasure and eliminate the Raiders before they can achieve their objective. The optional bow fire adds an extra layer of strategy, allowing Defenders to engage the Raiders from the sideline.
Setup:
Teams:
Raiders: One team of players designated as the Raiders, whose goal is to infiltrate and capture the Defenders' base or treasure.
Defenders: The other team is designated as the Defenders, whose job is to protect the base or treasure and eliminate the Raiders.
Players: Each team consists of an equal number of players. For example, 5 players on each team.
Play Area:
The play area should be large enough for both teams to maneuver, with clearly marked boundaries.
Defender Base/Treasure: A designated area (or object) that the Defenders must protect. This could be a physical object, a specific zone, or a designated area of the play space (e.g., a flag or a treasure chest).
The Raiders start at one end of the play area, and the Defenders guard the other end with their base/treasure.
Equipment:
Foam Swords: All players must use foam swords for combat.
Optional Bows: Defenders are stationed on the sideline and can use foam-tipped arrows to target Raiders attempting to reach the base or treasure.
Hit Points: Each player has 2 hit points. Players are eliminated after being hit twice.
Respawn Points: After being eliminated, players must return to their team's respawn area and wait for 20 seconds before re-entering the game.
Game Rules:
Hit Points:
Each player has 2 hit points. A successful hit with a foam sword reduces 1 hit point.
A player is eliminated after receiving 2 successful hits (whether from a foam sword or an arrow).
Headshots are prohibited. Hits must be to the torso, limbs, or gear. Striking with excessive force is discouraged to ensure safety.
Combat:
Raiders try to reach and capture the Defender's base or treasure by tagging the area or securing the treasure.
Defenders try to prevent Raiders from capturing the base or treasure by tagging Raiders with foam swords and eliminating them.
Players are allowed to block, parry, and use basic strategy to outmaneuver their opponents. Physical contact (like grappling or pushing) is not allowed.
Optional Bow Fire:
Defenders can use foam-tipped arrows from the sideline to target the Raiders attempting to reach the base or treasure.
A successful bow shot reduces 1 hit point for the player who was hit.
Bow Archers: Each Defender archer can use a limited number of arrows (e.g., 5 per half). Once they run out, they cannot shoot again until the next half.
Archers are only allowed to shoot from the sideline and cannot engage directly in the melee combat.
No headshots: Arrows must strike the body or limbs, not the head.
Respawn:
After a player is hit twice (and eliminated), they must return to their team's respawn point and wait for 20 seconds before re-entering the game.
During their respawn time, players cannot interact with the game and must remain in the designated respawn area.
Once the 20 seconds are over, they can re-enter the play area.
Game Time:
The game is played in two 15-minute halves.
At the end of the first half, teams switch roles (Raiders become Defenders, and Defenders become Raiders).
If a team successfully captures the base or treasure during a half, they win that half.
If the time runs out and no one captures the base or treasure, the half ends with the Defenders holding their base.
Winning the Game:
The team that captures the base or treasure during their turn as the Raiders wins that half.
If both teams succeed in capturing their opponent’s base in each half, the game is a draw.
If only one team successfully captures the base or treasure in either half, they are declared the overall winner.
If neither team captures the base in both halves, the game is considered a tie.
General Conduct:
Players must fight responsibly with foam swords. No excessive force or reckless swings.
No headshots: All hits should be to the torso, arms, or legs.
Defenders must stay within their base area, but they can move freely around the play area when guarding against Raiders.
Raiders can move freely within the entire play area, but they must always be trying to reach the base or treasure.
Archers on the sideline should respect the combat by only shooting when it’s appropriate and not interfering with other players.
Safety Guidelines:
Foam Sword Safety:
Ensure all foam swords used are soft, lightweight, and safe. There should be no hard edges or components.
Players should avoid excessive swinging and only tag opponents lightly.
Headshots:
No headshots are allowed. All strikes should be to the torso, arms, or legs to prevent injury.
Bow and Arrow Safety:
Only foam-tipped arrows should be used.
Archers should aim for the body or limbs, not the head or face.
Archers should shoot cautiously and avoid disrupting the melee combat.
Play Area Safety:
Ensure that the play area is free of obstacles that could cause players to trip or injure themselves.
Players must remain within the designated area and not exit during the game.
This Raiders vs. Defenders format allows for dynamic gameplay with strategic elements, such as using foam swords in close combat and archery to support the team. It ensures a mix of tactics, teamwork, and action, all while maintaining player safety.
